Plate. Ceramic plate, mould made. Bearing a scene, in relief, showing the river, part of Thomond Bridge, King John's Castle and St. Mary's Cathedral, with the Treaty Stone in the foreground; legend "The Treaty Stone Limerick". Floral relief motif around the edge. Cream earthenware; centre hand painted in shades of brown, blue green and reddish-brown; edges have relief picked out in gold. Some glaze like traces, but possibly a lacquer finish. Back of the plate has the number "5342" in relief and a second stamp also in relief is largely illegible but "????? AUS???", possibly "Made in Austria"? The latter stamp is overstamped in ink "Made in Czechoslovakia". The footring has two pierced holes for suspension, and there is a short length of brown string through the holes.
