Manuscript on parchment. Lease of plot of land in North Priorsland (adjoining 1989.252) by Edmond Sexten Pery to Ralph Ousley, dated 18 Jan 1772. Written on one side of ruled parchment with wide red ruled left margin. Small plan of the plot drawn in pen on paper is attached to the bottom centre of the document. The base of the document is turned up on itself and joined together with three strips of parchment. Two red ribbons also hold the document together and these are sealed and signed at front, by the parties to the agreement. Red wax seals, same matrix used for both (see imagery) Witnessed on the reverse. Folded both ends to the middle then in half; then both ends to the middle, but one forwards and one back, then in half. Annotated with contents on the outer cover.
