Cup, Ceramic, bone-china? Inscribed "A present from Limerick" within a raised frame. The frame is flanked on either side by oval frames with borders of piped whirls of applied clay. Within each oval is a tranfer floral motif. The decorative elements are resricted to the half of the cup facing a right handed drinker. Figure 9-shaped handle. The inside of the cup is plain white glazed and the same goes for the background of the decorative fields. The remainder of the exterior is a pinky-lilac colour, except for a band of indigo above the inscription. The inscription and floral transfers are in gold and gold has also been used to highlight the raised decorative elements. Rectangular white label on base reads "John Gunning Antiques", in blue ink..
