Whiskey Jar, ceramic, stoneware. Globular, expanding to domed top, slightly expanded foot, mouth in centre of top, neck with collar, neck expands to top (slightly concave profile), flat top. 1 gallon. Edge of base bevelled. Cream coloured to above point of greatest diameter, brown above. Strap handle, applied. Base flat. At top, opposite handle, transfer printed, black: McCARTHY'S, LIMERICK / WHOLESALE GROCERS / WINE MERCHANTS / AND MANUFACTURERS OF HIGH CLASS / AERATED MINERAL WATERS. Right, stamped in oval, near handle: PRICE / 4 / BRISTOL.
