Design, Limerick lace. In pencil on reverse of a section of OS 6" sheet. Square design with construction lay-out lines radiating from centre. Handkerchief border design, with central blank square. Top right corner filled out with design; part of second design in top left corner and fainter, partially erased in bottom left corner, second design laid out between diagonals. Main design; wave edge outer border in narrow band; ogee curve into corner; at centre of sides and once between, motif of two concentric curves joined across at ends with intersecting curve running to border; at inner corner two linked five sided figures with concave sides, in figure of 8 formation; from these strands of thick foliage, like bands of conjoined arrows, straggle towards centre of each side; at centre a concave sided hexagon with short length of foliage to either side and above. Second design; at corners two pointed ovals in figure of 8 formation, with half ovals to either side at corner; strands of foliage with small narrow leaves and rosette flowers run from corner to centre; wave edge outer border; zig-zag inner border with dots between it and foliage.
