Hammerstone, stone. Dark fine-grained sandstone beach pebble. Near rectangular in outline, with one convex and one concave long side. D-shaped cross-section. One end is convex, oval in section and rounded, clearly distinguished from the faces by pocking. The other end is missing, deeply scarred on the flat face for three-quarters of its length.
