Receipt, printed and ms; black on white. Single sheet printed folded and printed on front and rear, central pages blank. Front, "Stamp Office, Dublin,/ No. [956 29] day of [July] 1842 (converted to 1843)/ Received from [Peter O'Brien]/ Distributer of Stamps for [Limerick] the Sum of/ [Three Pounds One Shilling/ and eight pence]/ on Account of Stamp Duties, being the Amount of his/ Remittance for the Week end ("his" to "end" crossed out) [Board/ order of] the [19 June 1843- to pay/ The Registrar Diocese of Killaloe/ & Kilfenora/ £[ 3:1:8/ J. W. Atkinson?] Receiver-General./ [H. Cooper] Comptroller./ To the Distributer of Stamps/ [Limerick & Clare]". Reverse printed at centre "To/ The Distributer of Stamps,/ Post Paid. [Limerick]". Has been folded from edges to middle, from bottom up, then top down and sealed. Rectangular red cancellation over address, "Paid/ JY 29A/ 1843"; circular black on reverse as folded, "Limerick/ JY 30/ 1843". Tear at centre fold where seal broken, perforation at centre where stuck on spike. Watermark "S Evans & Co/ 1841", with parallel lines.
