Receipt, printed and ms; black on white. Single sheet printed folded and printed on front and rear, central pages blank. Front, "Stamp Office, Dublin,/ No. [534 2] day of [May] 1842 (converted to 1843)/ Received from [Peter O'Brien]/ Distributer of Stamps for [Limerick] the Sum of/ [Four Pounds Nineteen Shillings/ and nine pence]/ on Account of Stamp Duties, being the Amount of his/ Remittance for the Week end ("his" to "end" crossed out) [Board/ order of] the [18 April 1843- to pay/ Propr. of the Limerick Reporter]/ £[ 4:19:9/ Robert Tyrrell] Receiver-General./ [H. Cooper] Comptroller./ To the Distributer of Stamps/ [Limerick & Clare]". Reverse printed at centre "To/ The Distributer of Stamps,/ Post Paid. [Limerick]". Has been folded from edges to middle, from bottom up, then top down and sealed. Rectangular red cancellation over address, "Paid/ MY 2A/ 1843"; circular black on reverse as folded, "Limerick/ MY 3/ 1843". Note in blue above address "acqce/ 5th July 1843", and in black at left edge "310:0:2". Tear at centre fold where seal broken, perforation at centre where stuck on spike. Watermark "Evans & Co/ 1841", with parallel lines.
