Receipt, printed and ms. Black on white. Single sheet, folded in half and printed on first and last side only. First side; "Stamp Office, Dublin,/ No. [1244 4] day of [October] 1842/ Received from [Peter O'Brien]/ Distributer of Stamps for [Limerick] the Sum of/ [One hundred and forty one pounds]/ on Account of Stamp Duties, being the Amount of his/ remittance for the week end[ed] the [24t Sep 1824 {sic}/ {ps} [141.0.0/ Robert Tyrrell] Receiver-General/ [H. Cooper] Comptroller./ To the Distributer of Stamps./ [Limerick & Clare]". Final page "To/ Distributer of Stamps,/ [Kilkenny] {crossed out and [Limerick] substituted}/ Post Paid.". Back forms the address; both ends folded inward, bottom upwards then top down and sealed. Victoria penny red unperforated stamp letters "FG" set sideways at top right, cancelled with Maltese Cross. Rectangular red cancellation over address "Paid/ OC5A/ 1842"; circular black cancellations on reverse as folded "Clonmel? OC 7 1842" and "Limerick/ OC 7/ 1842". Hole in paper where seal opened, holed by spike. Watermark; Crowned cartouche, centre removed by seal, with "SE & CO". under
