Back forms the address; both ends folded inward, bottom upwards then top down and sealed with impressed "GR" made up of dots inside a circle of dots. Rectangular red cancellation over address "Paid/ JA19E/ 1838"; second circular black cancellation on reverse as folded "Limerick/ JA 20/ 1838". Message on page 2 signed E. Melford?, requesting the money be paid to Mrs Moore, residing near the Balls Bridge, former intimate companion of Lady Powerscourt. Hole in paper where seal opened. Watermark; a crowned cartouche, central design lost to hole in paper, GM under and parallel lines.
