Envelope, addressed to Peter O'Brien Esqr., Stamp Office, Limerick. Victoria penny red unperforated postage stamp at top right, letters GF (or P). Cancellation on stamp, unclear number in a lozenge of parallel lines. Circular cancellations on front, "Limerick/ DE 5/ 1848/ E", on reverse "Newcastle/ DE 5/ 1848". Red seal on flap, circular with intertwined ?"HMG". Perforation through centre of envelope.
