Address, illuminated: Cork Corporation to John E Redmond MP on the occasion of his visit to Limerick, 12 October 1913; meeting of corporation proposing address, 8 Oct 1913. Rectangular parchment with stuck on border of green silk. Down l. side a band of celtic interlace in pale purple within borders of pink, blue and gold lines, gold dotted lines outside. At the top of the band are the arms and motto of Cork, coloured, stuck on, and above this, the opening word of the address, AT, ornate, red. Recipients name on a band below the introduction, in large blue lettering ornamented with gold dots, the background yellow with geometric infill in pink. The address is in black ink, capital letters in red. Signed below by H. O'Shea, Lord Mayor, and ..., Town Clerk, to l. of Cork city seal on gold paper, stuck on. Originally on a gilt wooden roller, from which it has become detached.
