Clay tobacco pipe made for John Clune, tobacco manufacturer, Limerick, 1880s 1890s. Upright cylindrical bowl stamped on the stem face in a large oval: J. Clune / Limerick, around an impression of the castle of Limerick city arms. The stem has raised rectangles on each side, broken off midway along the inscription, on one side J. Clu..and on the other, ..merick. This is surrounded by dots, and there are faint traces of same on the first side. Stem appears to have been slightly convex. .
