Clay tobacco pipe made for John Clune, tobacco manufacturer, Limerick, 1880s 1890s. Complete, in two pieces, repaired. Upright cylindrical bowl and slightly convex stem, broken above the mouthpiece. Stem face of bowl stamped in sunken oval: J. Clune / Limerick, around a harp. The stem has raised rectangles surrounded by dots on each side, one impressed J. Clune, the other Limerick, the number 11 sideways in front of the first. Stem becomes pointed oval in cross section towards the mouthpiece.
