L. 23.5 Bowl 8.4 x 5.0 Drop 1.8 x 1.2 W. shoulders at bowl 1.3 W. stem min 1.1 W. handle, base 2.1 end 2.3 H. engraved initials 0.5.
Spoon. Limerick silver tablespoon by Robert O'Shaughnessy, c.1810. Fiddle pattern. Oval bowl with large drop on underside. The stem is broad at the junction with the handle, forming no angle to the shoulder. Slight downturn to end of handle, with a central lobe on the underside. Initials M E M, the E elevated with two vertical dashes below, engraved on upper side of handle. Marks: ROS, the O small and elevated, in square, STERLING, and fleur-de-lis on underside of handle. Lower part of initials worn.
