Factory time register from Clune's Tobacco Factory, Denmark Street, Limerick. Dey Time Register / Howard Bros. / Liverpool and London inscribed on face, and below, Made in U.S.A. Red painted wooden box casing, with flat edge-moulded top and base. A H-shaped iron framework bolted to the front supports a broad circular iron band, painted cream, of greater diameter than the width of the clock, which has 50 perforations, each with a circular depression, alternately inside and out, whilc held markers for each perforation. A spoke from the centre of the H-frame has a projection which fits into the perforations when pressed, causing a mechanism within the clock, which held a card, to be stamped at the appropriate place for eacj perforation. A small dial to the r. of the H-frame has 12 settings for months of the year. Through the lower section of the H-frame is a circular glass, matching the clock face above, engraved: The Dey Register. There is a locking door at each side of the casing. The glass of the dial is missing, and the top of the minute hand is broken off. Winding key present. . Trades, labour
