Will, probate; printed and manuscript on vellum. Will of William Gould, of Mungret Street,Limerick clothier, probate granted 8th May 1854. The will, dated April 1841, is in manuscript; it asks for all debts to be settled, sum of £50 to his son, £150 to his daughter Mary Anne, house and furniture to his wife Anne nee Byrne, executors, his wife and Harrison Lee of High Street Iron Founder; witnesses William Ranaler and Isaac Jaques. Printed probate sheet filled out in manuscript by Henry Laval Willis surrogate of the Venerable James Willis Forster, Vicar General etc. of the diocese of Limerick. Blue £5 revenue stamp at top left with embossed stamp; two circular black stamps one reading, 9/ pence, the other, one penny; and, Limerick, stamped in red. This sheet is badly damp stained and much of the manuscript text is difficult to read. The two sheets were originally joined together at bottom, with the probate sitting in the turn up of the will and joined together with parchment. Signature of Willis across parchment. Paper seal of the Consistory Court was attached two two pendant strips, but now loose; Name of court around arms of the bishop; a crozier, mitre and crossed keys, with mitre crest above.
