Photograph, b/w. Posed half length photo of soldier named Corporal Hegarty, set in souvenir frame (part of photo) of the coronation of Edward VII. Below is a worn ms inscription partly illegible that died 1915? at Mons? Young soldier in tunic and cap, with cane under right arm; cap badge has Prince of Wales feathers suggestiing Leinster Regiment. An ornate patriotic frame on photo around the image, includes images of King Edward and his Queen, Britannia, Royal Arms etc; down right side on banner wrapped around pole Souvenir / of the / Coronation / of His / Most / Gracious / Majesty / Edward (not clear). Mounted on card and beginning to lift from it. Some tears at edges. Below on card an inscription in black ink, v. worn in places Corporal .. Hegarty ... died at Mons?/ J? Hegarty 19,, R.I.P in loving [Remem]brance. Could be James Hegarty, son of John and Maria Hegarty of Birr.
