Apple corer, Limerick Silver. By Maurice Fitzgerald c1760-1800. Silver blade with wooden handle. Blade a half cylinder with rounded tip, Handle turned wood, oak?, held in place by two rivets and a collar. Marks on the inside of the blade, MFG in a rectangle and STERg in a rectangle, the "g" underlined. Both marks struck twice, alternating in a single line. Turned wood handle expands slightly away from the blade; band of rilling below junction.
