Snuff-box, Limerick Silver. Table snuff-box by Thomas Burke. Parallel sided with rounded ends and vertical sides with moulding around base and lids. Unequal internal division into two compartments, the larger 8cm the smaller 3cm. The lids are hinged at the internal division and the two interleave arond the pivot. The vertical internal division has three hemispherical holes at the base between the two compartments, one large one flanked by two smaller ones. The smaller lid has a small hole at either side corresponding to holes on the sides of the main body. The lid is bright cut around the edges, with crest of a leaping dolphin under a coronet (possibly Kennedy?). Marks on the internal base of the larger compartment; TB in a rectangle , struck twice either side of Sterlin.
