Motto around on, embroidered in yellow on purple "St. Alphonsus Liguori/ Pray for us, with some embroidered foliage at bottom ofimage above lower line of motto.. Below lower line a shield showing cross spear and crown of thorns under crest of a crown; flanked by lilies all embroidered , with "Copiosa apud eum redemptio" on scroll at bottom of shield in yellow on applied purple scroll. Central white section has pointed bottom and yellow fringe and is flanked by narrow purple panels which have rectangular projecting ends and yellow fringe. These panels and cross purple panel with motto edged in gold and purple tape with long and short crosses alternating. Top edge has a purple drape across with yellow fringe.Greeny-gold back cloth. Silk and rayon? Wooden pole for hanging. Two conjoined lengths of yellow cord with tassles on end probably belong to this. Label on reverse "Made at/ Good Shepherd Convent/, Limerick 1941". In cloth bag together with 2548; bag has inscriptions "Thy house and the place/ where thy glory dwelleth" and "..oved? the beaut..."
