Lacemakers frame, wood. Consists of two horizontal bars and two vertical bars, the horizontal thicker and wider with a slot near each end through the narrow edge to receive the vertical bars, which have two staggered lines of perforations to adjust the height of the frame with pegs. The horizontal bars each have a strong strip of herringbone fabric tacked along their lengths, to which the lace net is sewn. The edges of the bars are rounded off, the ends of the horizontal bevelled and the ends of the vertical rounded. The makers pencil marks remain at the top and bottom of each slot on the horizontal bars. The bars are varnished. Each horizontal bar is inscribed in black ink towards one end: 1 yd. 12". One vertical bar has the remains of a similar inscription at one end. A piece of lace net joins the two horizontal bars with a rectangular piece of yellow fabric bearing a pattern for floral lace pinned on.
