Poem, manuscript, in Greek, by William Smith O'Brien, 1862. One sheet , inscribed ps. 1 and 4. In top r. p.1: Exercise No. 1, 39 lines. Script has occasional English translation of a word in brackets. At bottom p.4: The foregoing poem was composed by me at Killiney in the month of August 1862 as an exercise in the Greek language, being the first Greek poem composed by me. It has been subjected to the criticism of several able scholars, and has been amended by me to meet their objections but I have not accepted any words or phrases suggested by these critics by way of substitute for my faulty expression.
