Postcard, b/w glossy, portrait style. White margin around view, title on reverse. Shows interior of circular library, with central pillar at right , Romanesque entrance doorway at centre, part of window at left. Reverse printed in black; at bottom left "Glenstal Priory The Library"; central division line with four address lines to right. Green two pence Eire definitive issue stamp at top right, showing outline map of Ireland; set upside down. Rectangular cancellation, with cross of Lorraine in top left inside an oval with "Support/ Shilling A/ Quarter ????"; circular cancellation to left "Luimneach/ 3 PM/ 9 Aug/ 1952". Addressed in blue ink to Mrs D. Cullen, Farnham St., Cavan, from S O'Reilly with message about stay at the priory, including chapter session to elect new prior. Pencil dealer's mark "£1".
