Document, legal; manuscript on parchment. Indenture, fee farm grant by William Hale John Charles Earl of Limerick to Robert Dundas of Arniston in the County of Edinburgh, of land in S. Priorsland dated 27th June 1872. Conversion of lease 1998.040 to fee simple. Single sheet of parchment, folded in half to form four sides; document written over 1-3 and signed and sealed on side three; then folded in half and half so blank side becomes cover. Page 1 margin; at top blue paper stamp duty embossing with lead strip at centre, a shield with "Ireland" over a crown, with A to left of crown and harp to right, over "Five Shillings" in a floral border; over a circular stamp with crown at centre "Limerick" around over and below straight, 28.4.71"; below pair of pink embossings with lead strip at centre of each, upper a rectangle with concave corners, with at centre Crowned royal arms [three lions, lion rampant and harp, with honi soit qui mal y pense, on garter] surrounded by thistles and shamrocks, "Duplicate/ or/ Counterpart" above, "Original Stamped with" below, lower rectangle "Ireland" over a crown, with "B" to left and harp to right, over "Ten Shillings" in a floral border; circular stamp, crown at centre "Dublin " around above, "16.8.72/ D" below; below statement signed T.M. Ray that memorial entered at Register office Dublin 17-08-1872; "12 [underlined]/ Comptd/ [initials]. P. 1 at top in pencil 10/ Counterpart/ JRP?", "5/-" in pencil, crossed out, and stamp circular, black "Price/ Paid/ 1/3". Page 2 right margin, on reverse of embossings, three black on white stamps crowned VR monogram, top stamp letters "M G" bottom two "L G". Page three, witnesses for Earl, Croker Barrington and John Sandes, both 10 Ely Place Dublin; Alexander Richardson and Alexander Quinn? for Dundas. Length of green tape in right margin with two seals over next to signatures; red wax, both using the same matrix, a gothic letter B. Annotated with contents on outer fold with name "John Frost/ 11 Lower Dominic St" at bottom. Further annotations on cover "172" in blue pencil, "Limerick" in pencil and "Counterpart" in ink.
