Document, legal; manuscript on parchment. Indenture; renewal of lease by Edmond Henry Earl of Limerick to Pierce Shannon of land in S. Priorsland, dated 12-03-1835. Renewal of 1998.039 on three lives; of the three lives of the original, i.e. Elizabeth Monsell (nee Crawford) and her two children Anna Maria and Richard, Elizabeth is deceased and Mary Furnell, eldest daughter of Benjamin Furnell of the City of Limerick, now substituted. Pierce Shannon has inherited rights of Peter Monsell; mention of Mrs Henn's dwelling house. Folded up at bottom and fastened at the sides with strips of parchment; at two points in centre fastened with pink tape and sealed over tape with signature of parties to left of seal. Red wax, same matrix used on both?; rectangular, out of a castle a wolf's head, over initials JB (James Barry Solicitor). Witnessed on reverse; William Snooks and Joseph Moody for the Earl, James Barry and J? Barrington for Pierce Shannon. Blue paper stamp duty embossing, with lead strip, at top left; "Ireland/ GR IV" over a crowned harp over "Ten/ Shillings"; brown on white paper stamp, GR IV crowned monogram on reverse over lead; circular stamp above left "2 Sh/ 6 Pen"; to right "Limerick" in red. Folded three times and then from both ends to middle and then in half. Annotated as to contents on outside, "Fol 424" below annotation in red-brown ink; two stamps at top right, one rectangular "Finally/ Delivered", the other oval, "[Maltese cross] H.C.J.I. [Maltese cross]/ Land Judges, Deeds Office" around at centre, "Box [ms]457-8-9/ Sch [ms]A/ No [ms]80". "52 in a circle in blue pencil. On reverse as folded "No 98 Rental" in pencil.
