Postcard, b/w. matt, landscape format; title in brown in white margin across bottom, "Main Street, Rathkeale. Co. Limerick". View along a street, curving to left and sloping away in distance; Chinese male figure above Fitzgibbon's shop front at right, with horse and trap parked by pavement directly outside; in further distance another trap parked against opposite curve; c9 figures on left pavement, some blurred, 4 on right pavement beyond trap; three storey bank like building at centre picture. Reverse printed in brown, "Post Card" at centre top with wavy edge division below; up left edge "Lawrence, Dublin."; left of centre "This space may be used for communication for/ Inland Postage and Foreign Countries, except/ Japan, Spain and United States".; to right "The address only to be/ written here." Addressed to Mr Joseph (Josie) Conway, c/o T. Jones & Co., The Tannery, New Ross, Co. Wexford, from James; message, I'm in this part of the country now, hope all at home are well. Stamp has been removed, taking most of cancellation with it only, "..ALE/" (Rathkeale?) remaining. Pencil dealer's mark at top to right of centre "£24.00".
