Drawing, ink, on paper. The Castle of Limerick. Original drawing, by William Henry Bartlett, for the print in S.C. And A.M. Hall's "Ireland its Scenery and Character, etc." 1841-43. Shows the gateway of the castle and the two towers on the northern side, the north west with conical tower; the perspective of the north west tower is completely wrong, giving the impression that it is set at right angles to the other towers rather than roughly in line; figures in foreground outside castle gateway and at left; in background at left three houses on Nicholas Street are visible. Paper cut slightly unevenly to rectangle and mounted on white card; at bottom right of card in Ms, black ink "The Castle of Limerick". Framed Sept 1998, white mount with concentric grey and brown lines around drawing, gold painted frame. Chris Doswell framer's sticker on reverse.
