Postage stamps, first day cover. 1994 Christmas stamps depicting objects in Hunt Museum. 28p, grey and yellow, The Annunciation from a German ivory plaque c 1100 Ad. 32p blue yellow and brown on pale pink, The Flight into Egypt from a French wood carving, c. 15th Century. 52p yellow and red, The Nativity from the same ivory plaque as the 28p. Cover printed at left with the full plaque from which the 28 and 52 p stamps were taken, with "Eire Cludach Chead Lae Post". Stamps at right with single circular cancellation catching part of each; at centre a depiction of the Customs House, inner ring "The Hunt Museum", outer ring "Luimneach/ La A Chead Eisiuna 17 XI 1994". Normal cancellation struck twice across the envelope; circular "Luimneach/ 8 15 AM/ 28 Nov/ 1994" with "Post Early/ for Christmas" in rectangle to right. Explanatory card in envelope with compliments slip from Hunt Museum. Stamps and cover printed by Irish Security Stamp Printing. Envelope addressed to Limerick Museum.
