Receipt, printed, black on white; filled out in black ink. "Q/196 The Distillery/ [space for name] Limerick [space for date] 187 [space]/ [line for address]/ Your favour of [space] enclosing/ [space] Value [space for amount]/ which amount is placed to/ your credit with thanks./ Soliciting a continuance of your esteemed commands,/ I am your most obedient servant./ [pound sign followed by area with closely spaced lines] Archibald Walker". Up left edge; a central circle with monogram "AW" with "Distillery/ Limited" around, to either side ovals one containing "Archibald" the other "Walker", "Guy & McQuaide Sc." below. Filled out in name of John Ryan, Newport, 4 August 1879 in the sum of 7-13-0, and initialled at bottom right "AW". Paper has half perforations down left side, where torn from a book. Watermarked paper, not clear. Small portion of paper missing from bottom edge,some staining of paper, including one brown spot, several small perforations, insect damage?
