Reverse printed in brown; at centre top a circle with head and shoulders portrait of a young man with "Trade Mark/ Milton" around; "Printed in G[ermany]" below, obscured by stamps, with T shaped divider below; to left "Correspondence"; box for stamp at top right corner partially obscured by stamps. Three green Eire definitive issue 1/2d stamps, showing monk at table with manuscript; one conjoined pair and one single. Circular postmark, "Luimneach/ 21 Dec/ 1945" with rectangular mark to right over stamps, "No Xmas Day/ Delivery Post/ Early." Addressed to Miss E Weldon Manor House, Moreton, Dorset, England, from Miss E Harnett, Carmel, O'Connell Ave., Limerick, wishing a merry Christmas.
