Postcard, b/w glossy, landscape format, white margin around view. Title at top left of view "Thomond Bridge and St. [sic] John's Castle, Limerick. View along south side of bridge from Clancy's Strand, with St. Munchin's and Toll House in background, and Northern part of castle at right. Reverse printed in grey-brown; at centre a circle containing head and shoulders portrait of a young man, with "Trade Mark/ Milton" around, with "Printed in Germany" below with T shaped division below that; to left of trade mark "The Milton" and to right "P[ost Card]" mostly obscured by stamps; "Correspondence" to left of centre. Three green 1/2 d definitive issue stamps showing a monk at a desk with manuscript; all stamps set sideways, a conjoined pair and a single. Circular cancellation reads, "Luimneach/ 3 PM/ 31 DEC/ 1946" with rectangular cancellation to right over stamps "Labhair Gaedhilge". Addressed to Miss Elinor Weldon, Manor House, Moreton, Dorchester, Dorset, England, from ? Harnett, "Carmel" O'Connell Ave., Limerick; message thanks for card, happy New Year.
