Postcard, b/w glossy, landscape format, white margin around. Title in bottom left of view, "O'Connell Street, Limerick". View south along the street from a fist floor level diagonally opposite Cruise's Hotel; busy street scene, cars parked along pavement on both sides, two buses at left, cyclists in the street and may pedestrians, all shops on right side of street have their blinds down. Reverse printed in brown, Valentine's trade mark of a double globe set on a large V, at centre top; "Valentine's Famous/ Throughout/ the World" above and across globe; "Post" to left and "Card" to right of mark; to left of dividing line "For Correspondence", to right "For Address Only"; at right below stamp "Printed in Eire". Maroon 1 1/2d Eire definitive issue stamp, showing outline of Ireland under an arch. Circular cancellation at left of stamp "Luimneach/ 3 5 PM/ 21 NOV/ 1947", with rectangular cancellation to right extending over stamp, "Save Flour/ Bread". Addressed to mrs Weldon, Manor House, Moreton, Dorchester, Dorset, England, from ???. Message, had good crossing, Nanny well.
