Postcard, colour matt, portrait format. Front shows a green flag with gold harp, set within a border of Celtic interlace and chain motifs, with Ramillies/ 1706" within border; below the verse "Sin thuar a bhfuil faghtha den/ bhratach Sharanach do bhain na Gaedhil/ in arm na Fraince da naimhdibh/ i gcat Ramillies rs bhlidham 1706./ Copyright" over a further band of interlace with "Ypres" at centre. Reverse printed in a mauve/lilac colour; "Post Card" at centre top with T-shaped division below; up left edge "Frank Byrne, Publisher, Dublin"; left of centre "The remnants of the English Flag taken by the/ Irish Brigade in the Army of France ar Ramillies,/ 1707. After the battle the captured colours were/ deposited in the Monastery of the Irish Benedictine/ Nuns at Ypres, where they have since been preserved./ "The Flags we conquered in that fray, Look lone in Ypres choir, they say."/ (Davis)."; to right "The Address to be written/ here"; box for stamp at top right corner with "5" in top right corner.
