Printed form headed "Post Office Telegraphs", with Royal Coat of Arms with "Eyre & Spottiswoode, London" under in box at top left; at top right No. of Telegraph 186, with below circular office stamp "Limerick/ AU 20/ 96". Handed in at "Easton Portland" office, with time and time of receipt. Message "John Daly released today at twelve forty will arrive in London at six fifty health very indifferent not coming home direct unless mother is seriously ill, James". Torn almost in half and repaired with clear sticky tape, some paper missing from centre left of page; corners reinforced with white paper; has been folded in half twice.
