Inscribed on fly-sheet in black ink; "This Bible/ was purchased/ by the following inmates of/ The Limerick Asylum for Blind Females/ for the use of the Institution,/ in grateful Remembrance/ of their kind and constant friend,/ the late Mrs. Robert Hunt/ of 83 George Street, in this city/ Bessy Frazer/ Mary M. O'Connor/ Emily Deane/ Margaret Ryan/ Ellen Saunders/ Sarah Hogan/ Katie O'Brien/ Maria Lynn/ Alice Sewell/ January 1884 Limerick/ J.Ft.G." Pages un-umbered; through to Genesis XXV is loose with torn, worn and folded pages and there may be a title page missing; space at front for register of births, marriages and deaths, left blank, except for "Eccl. 5 4-5" in blue ink under births. Full leather binding with bronze clasp, buckle absent, clasp on front and back cover decorated with three shamrocks.
