Painting, watercolour; a view of Limerick from across the Shannon, showing corner tower of the Castle St. Mary's Cathedral, the Courthouse, and Custom House; several ships tied up against the Custom House and four angling cots on the foreground side of the River; in foreground left a boat is pulled onto the shore and two carts are servicing it; in the river are three women, washing clothes?; at right a group of people are gathered around a tree. By William Turner De Lond 1767-1827. Painted on brown paper. Mounted and framed; mount predominantly pale blue, but white around the picture, defined by three black lines and with second narrow white band concentric to the first. Wooden frame gold painted on a red-brown undercoat. Hardboard backing, sealed around edges with brown paper tape; Four small white labels on reverse, each printed "Christie's/ Scotland (GLW)" and stamped "BW533" and "13/5/91"; white sticky label on reverse reads in blue ball-point, "Limerick Museum/ Larry/ Walsh"; typewritten sheet on reverse with details of painting. Black stamp on paper tape running fractionally onto hardboard; "GLWBW533". Faint chalk marks on reverse. Eyes rings and fishing line for hanging.
