Book; "Lays and Legends of Thomond", vol. 1, by M. Hogan; "Printed at "The Munster News" Office, 1865. 298pp. plus 6 of introduction etc. Book of verse. Inscribed over the introduction "Presented/ to Aubrey De Vere Esq./ With the compliments/ of the Author". Title page inscribed in childish "Briggey" and some pencil scrawl; last page inscribed twice in pencil "Brian". Hard, dark green cloth binding, with gold lettering on the spine. The front cover has loosened and the title page is loose, and in general, the binding is beginning to fall apart.
