Certificate, printed and manuscript; awarded by Comhairle na Mire Gaile on 24th February 1978 "in recognition of the bravery of Patrick McMahon, of 25 Brookville Avenue, Clareview, Limerick in saving human life at City Dock, Limerick, on the 20th day of December 1976", and signed Joseph Brennan Chairman and Dermot F? Cassidy Secretary. Printed in black and yellow on cream paper; central rectangular printed frame with an internal interlace border around the text; at top is a depiction of an angel in toga like dress, looking straight ahead, with wings outspread and holding a shield on his left arm and a flaming torch in his right hand; set against a black disc. Set in a glass fronted plain dark wood frame with gold edging; hardboard back sealed with brown paper; eyes for hanging on either side.
