Sketch, pen and ink, with partial khaki wash; titled at bottom "Diorama No. 4 "Queen Elizabeth receives Shane O'Neill" with "scale 2 1/2 inches -1 foot. Depicts the queen at left rising from her throne moving to meet O'Neill who has four gallowglass armed with axes behind him; at right two heralds standing in the doorway trumpeting the arrival; an adviser stands next to the throne; scene set in a hall with hammerbeam roof and five light cusped lancet windows; arms of England and Ulster on shields in roof. All on a sheet of white paper mounted on thick brown card with brown paper.
