Medal, silver. Ashantee Medal, inscribed "Navg. Sub. Lt. W. H. Maunsell, R.N. H.M.S. Coquette 73-74" around the edge. Obverse; the diademed and veiled head of Queen Victoria with the legend "Victoria Regina". Reverse; a scene of bush fighting around a tree between British soldiers and natives. Suspension by a straight bar, with swivelling suspender. Ribbon; yellow with black borders and two thin black stripes down the centre. Photocopy of Royal Navy list re. Maunsell with.
