Postcard, b/w , matt; white margin around; title in bottom left of view "Bridge Street, Newcastle West" A street scene taken from the middle of the road looking along it to a cross road in the distance, with shops along each side of the road; there is a staggered junction in the foreground and on the corner at left a group of c12 mostly old men are sitting on a low wall with a tree behind them; on the opposite corner is another low wall with a man and a woman sat on it; there are people moving up and down the pavement on either side and in the middle of the road in the foreground two women ar e pushing a perambulator towards the camera; there are three boys in the roadway, two behind the women and one to one side. Reverse printed in grey; the printing down both edges has faded or something and is not entirely clear; at centre top is a circle in which is the head and shoulders portrait of a man, with "Trade Mark" above and "Milton" below the portrait; to left of circle, "The Milton and to right "Post Card"; vertical dividing line below circle; up the left edge was the typical Milton Series inscription, only fragments of which are readable, but a cf. with other cards can restore the text; to left of centre "Correspondence"; to right "Address"; box for stamp at top right corner, with right edge missing, but with "Stamp/ Here" in centre. Unposted and unused. Pencil inscription up left margin near top "98051". Pencil dealer's marks "Lim" at top left "WAF/ [pound sign]6".
