Print, black on white, hand coloured in yellow green and brown; "The Town of Kilrush; taken from "The Illustrated London News", Dec. 15 1849, page 393. View across fields to the town, with three cattle in the foreground; church towards left edge of picture and large, industrial looking building with chimney at right. On the reverse of the print are three columns, that on the left describing conditions in the Kilrush area; that in the centre snippets about Ireland and that on right about the theatre. Olive green mount with gold line around the print which is attached by clear sticky tape; rear of mount inscribed in pencil 1849.
