Book; "The History of Limerick, Ecclesiastical, Civil and Military, From the earliest records to the year 1787, Illustrated by Fifteen engravings, to Which are added the Charter of Limerick and an Essay on Castle Connell Spa" by John Ferrar, Citizen of Limerick, printed by A. Watson & Co., Limerick 1787, and dedicated to John Prendergast Smyth. Two fly leaves, title page, then pages i-xviii containing dedication, list of subscribers and preface, a single page of instructions to the binder, then the main text 1-492,; within main text one un-numbered page dedicates the Castleconnell section to Sir Richard de Bourgh Bart. One of the illustrations a map which should be where the instructions to the binder is, has been torn out. Where credited all the engravings are by J. Duff, after drawings by H. Pelham (I), Gore Ouseley (VII), A. Denmead (XI) and D. Ryan (XV). Full tan leather binding with gold tooling on the spine, tile on red leather background. Inside covers marbled. Inscription on fly leaf "For/ The Countess Camden/ from the Author,/ In grateful Remembrance/ of the Countess's Attention/ to poor, destitute children/ Dublin January 8,/ 1796./ 'Say, will our Camden lend a patient ear,/ And weep at woes unknown to Britain's Isle,/ Yes thou wilt weep, for pity chose thy breast,/ With taste and science for their soft abode./ Yes thou wilt weep;-thine own distress thou bear'st/ Undaunted;-but another's melts thy soul.'"
