Snuff-box, Limerick silver and cowrie shell, by Jonathan Buck. The main container portion is made from the back of a cowrie shell, white speckled with brown, with silver mount around the edge to take the lid. The lid has a central raised heart shape and is engraved between the heart and hinge "R" small cross "F" with "D" above the cross. The marks are on the inside of the lid; a buck inside a wavy edged square and "Sterling" in a rectangle. The cowrie shell is cracked in two places.
