Photograph, black and white, from glass negative. Inscribed on reverse "Gate to 5 The Trossachs, North Strand after snow." North Strand dominates the picture, with the gates and Strand Barracks on the left side, King John's Castle in the centre background and buildings between Nicholas Street and the Shannon on the right. A horse drawn cart is moving up the street and there is a group of three people outside the barracks and a woman walking along the pavement towards the camera just outside the gates. On the right hand side are two upturned boats on the inside of the wall along the Shannon. The print is slightly skew to the paper. Donor's address label on reverse; see inscriptions.
