Sugar-tongs, Limerick silver, by Matthew Walsh c 1790. Plain grips with floral chasing, arms expanding in width to the bend; bright cut along both arms; oval on the bend engraved with an unidentified crest of a demi-lion holding a spear rising from a coronet. One arm stamped on inside, "MW" in a rectangle; the other arm has the same stamp repeated and "Sterling" in addition. One arm slightly bent out of shape.
