Medal and suspension badge; British Red Cross Society, City and County of Limerick. White and red enamel on gilded white metal. Consists of two parts joined by a ring through suspension loops in the upper and lower part. The upper part carries the inscription "City & County/ of/ Limerick", in gilt on a red scroll, and has a swivel safety pin at the back for attachment to clothing. The lower part is circular and has a central shield with a red cross on a white field, the edges of the cross and shield highlighted in gilt; around the outside of the medal is the legend "The British Red Cross Society" in gilt against a red enamel background. Both pieces stamped "J.R. Gaunt, London" on the reverse.
