Finger ring, gold, by Joseph Johns, Limerick. Plain gold band, with slight D-shaped cross section, varying in width through wear. Engraved on inside "OOP"? (very worn) and "Octbr. 13 1746" space "4.40.43", the latter between a triangle of three dots. Maker's mark to left of initials "I (star)", very worn. In presentation box with blue velvet cover and white satin inside; the inside printed in gold with donor's name "J.W. Weldon, 55 Clarendon St., Dublin 2".
