Manuscript on parchment. Indentured lease, by Edmond Sexton Pery to Thomas Mason, clothier of Limerick, of plot in N. Priorsland (Thomondgate); dated 22 Jan. 1768. Written on one sheet of lined parchment with wide left margin. Map; plan of plot in black ink on paper with pencilled dimensions attached to bottom. Plan attached at centre bottom by two white tapes, sealed with red wax at front and signed by both parties. Pery's seal has an oval frame with a central diamond, in the centre of which is a shield on top of a diagonal bar with a rampant animal on either side of the shield; behind the bar the diamond is quartered, with one pair of diagonal quarters being blank, the other with small dots. Mason's seal has a bust of Classical type with a wreath round the head. Witnessed on reverse. Folded in half and half again, then from both ends to the centre and in half again. Annotated on outside with contents and with several inscription of which more below. Oval stamp of the Land Judges Deeds Office overstamped "Finally Delivered" in a rectangular frame, both in blue on the outer cover.
